Volunteers

We realize that volunteers have many choices as to where and how they spend their volunteer time. We also realize that meeting your goals starts with matching your skills and background to the right volunteer assignment – and satisfying your expectations and interest in giving back to your community. The successful matching of volunteer interests, skills, and expectations is important to our success and your satisfaction in your new volunteer career.

Getting Started

Volunteers come from all walks of life. Social work training or previous business experience is not required.  Adults and college students are required to:

  • Volunteer a minimum of four hours per week for a consecutive three-month period.
  • Most positions require working weekday business hours. For special events or field trips for the children, volunteers can work on weekends.
  • Be in good physical health.
  • Enjoy working in an agency that serves children with severe emotional and behavioral issues.
  • All volunteer positions require a completed application and authorization to conduct background records checks .

    Sharing Your Heart, Your Expertise

Are you a professional trainer? Do you have writing and editing skills? Can you spend a little time preparing mailings?

Volunteers are important to the day-to-day services and activities that Bethanna provides as a nonprofit social services agency.  Availability of volunteer positions varies depending on season of year and staff needs. Whether playing games with children or driving children to recreational activities, volunteers make possible many of the extra services that greatly benefit the children in our care and their families.

Adult volunteers include retirees, homemakers, business professionals, and college students. Based on their interests and skills, adult volunteers are needed year-round and for seasonal assignments.  Most volunteer can be given evening and weekend assignments.

Team volunteers is a special program designed for parents and their teens, church youth groups or a group of employees interested in working on short-term projects.
