Bethanna to Sponsor “Celebrating Adoption Picnic” on July 8

Germantown, PA (June 2006) – Summertime wouldn’t be complete without warm temperatures, family vacations, and old-fashioned picnics. On July 8, Bethanna, a faith-based, nonprofit agency, will serve up food and entertainment for adoptive children and their families in Germantown, Pa. and neighboring communities at this free “backyard” picnic. The “Celebrating Adoption Picnic” will be held 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Fernhill Park (Pavilion #2) located at Abbottsford Avenue and Morris Street in Germantown. The picnic is open to adoptive children and their families, as well as anyone interested in learning about adoption and post-adoption services available through Bethanna and other social service agencies.

For free admission to the event, simply bring your favorite dessert to share at your picnic table. A free lunch will be provided. In addition to food, there will be entertainment and representatives from Bethanna and other social services agencies to answer questions about adoption services and related family support services and community resources.

To register for the picnic, obtain directions to the park, or for information about Bethanna, contact Irma Holland, coordinator of the July 8 event, at 215-355-6500, ext. 260 or visit Bethanna’s web site at www.bethanna.org.
